Church Council
Governing body of Emmanuel that serves as the communication link between pastors and the congregation. Members are elected at the annual meeting to serve for a 3-year term (maximum 2 sequential terms). Officers are elected by the church council, and meetings are held monthly. In addition, all council members select one of the following teams on which to serve. Team meetings are held on a regular basis as needed.
Administrative Team
Focuses on the finances and day to day function of Emmanuel (property, finances, policies, and procedures) and shares insights with other church council members.
Discipling Team
Equips the congregation to DO the ministries of Emmanuel and the community by putting faith into action. Helps congregation grow in the Five Marks of Discipleship:
Faith Formation Team
Oversees Emmanuel’s education opportunities: Birth to 3, Faith Connections, VBS, confirmation, youth groups, and adult education to promote faith formation in members of our congregation and families. This group envisions for the future and plots the necessary steps toward that vision.
Visionary Team
Prayerfully looks at Emmanuel’s future, continually asking the question: “How is God calling us as a congregation to reach, teach and serve others?” The team then outlines the steps to move toward the goals identified as priorities.
